The Information Influence Lab - Knowledge Builds Resistance
The purpose of the pilot project is to strengthen societal resilience by systematising existing research and developing countermeasures against misleading narratives.
Information influence from authoritarian states is a growing threat to democratic societies. Through deceptive storytelling, foreign actors seek, among other things, to undermine trust in institutions and to foster division.
Increase resilience and knowledge of information impact
The pilot project will outline a research programme on societal resilience in the information domain, where results from a successful ongoing research initiative will be systematised, highlighted and further developed.
A central element will be the creation of a web platform with educational material – in both text and video format – designed to make research accessible to the public while also serving as a test environment for assessing which countermeasures are most effective.
The aim is to increase knowledge of how information influence works, which groups are most vulnerable, and how society can best build resilience.
