The Student Union and the Cadet Union
The Swedish Defence University’s student unions represent you as a student and your interests in matters relating to your education. If you are enrolled on any of our programmes other than the Officers’ Programme, you are represented by the Student Union, while students on the Officers’ Programme are represented by the Cadet Union.

About the student unions
Our student unions are democratically governed, non-profit associations made up of students. The unions monitor and contribute to the development of education and study conditions at the Swedish Defence University.
The unions safeguard your interests in matters including the quality of education, legal certainty, student participation, the study and working environment, equal treatment and freedom from discrimination. The unions have representatives on most of the Swedish Defence University’s preparatory and decision-making bodies.
Organisation
The unions are led by their respective union boards and the board members elected by their members at each annual general meeting. You are welcome to have a say in who leads your union or to stand for a position on the union board.
