Visual Politics Research Program

The Visual Politics Research Program at the University of Queensland's School of Political Science and International Studies conducts research on how visual expressions, such as photography, television, film, social media, art and performance, affect how we perceive and relate to political issues and events.

The program arranges talks about new books, presentations of ongoing doctoral projects, roundtable discussions, workshops and exhibitions.

Open seminars

During the autumn semester of 2026, four open seminars will be arranged in collaboration with the Swedish Defence University.

The coordinator of the programme is Roland Bleiker, Professor of International Relations at the University of Queensland and holder of the Olof Palme Visiting Professorship 2026 at the Swedish Defence University.
