Information, influence, and psychological warfare: Strengthening defence capability through secure communication and diplomacy

How can defence capability development, from an information security perspective, effectively counter disinformation campaigns and psychological warfare to protect social and military trust in a contemporary global landscape?

The PhD project investigates how information security, disinformation and psychological warfare affect the development of Swedish defense capabilities and diplomatic strategies.

By analysing how information influence and digital threats shape decision-making, collaboration and trust in both civilian and military contexts, the research aims to contribute new insights into how Sweden and its international collaborations can strengthen resilience against hybrid threats.

The work is conducted in collaboration between the Swedish Defence University and KTH, in the borderland between technology, security and social sciences.
